MCBURNEY STUDY SKILLS APPOINTMENTS:
The McBurney Disability Resource Center's mission is to assist in creating an accessible university community where students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to fully participate in all aspects of the educational environment. We cooperate through partnerships with students, faculty, and staff to promote students' independence and to ensure recognition of their abilities, not disabilities.
Study Skills appointments are consistently scheduled with a study skills specialist and assist students in developing better study habits and skills. Appointments are tailored toward the student's needs and will be developed accordingly. As SLSS, we work with students at the Mcburney center on improving their study skills and time management skills. We help identify some problems the student may have in certain areas of their study and work to strengthen these areas. Some areas we work on with students include: note taking, reading, concentration, exam preparation and more. We provide advice that will help students to achieve their academic goals. Also we encourage students to come in and sign up to learn about more effective ways of studying!
